A little bit about us…

Shannon Zinger is a registered speech-language pathologist (SLP) with more than 20 years of experience supporting children and teen’s speech, language and literacy in school and community settings. 

She was raised in Red Deer and is happy to call this city her home.  She is a mother of three wonderful children and one fun, energetic golden retriever. She wholeheartedly believes that everyone needs the opportunity to feel successful.  She is passionate about working with older children and teens to find school success.

Shannon received a Bachelor of Science: Communication Sciences and Disorders degree from Minot State University in 1996. She began her career working as a speech-language therapist for Riverside Unified School District in Riverside, CA.  She then received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Arizona University in 2000. She has been practicing as an SLP for the past 20 years in Central Alberta for Alberta Health Services.

As a speech-language pathologist,  Shannon is passionate about the connection between language, literacy, executive functioning and school success. She empowers her clients to reach their goals, self-advocate and feel confident in their learning potential.
